Short run this morning
Had every intention to go for a longer run but we had some plans and I got out of bed later than usual. I’ll make up for it this weekend, planning a ride or two.
One thing is for sure, I need cold weather riding gear. I have cold weather stuff for running but it’s not suitable for riding, at least not all of it. I am moving very soon and will live right next to a nice running/biking trail network. Something I have always wanted. I will be ready for the Go Ruck this spring in Philly.

Short ride this morning
Just a quick 5 mile ride this morning. It rained all night so the roads were still wet but my tires held the road just fine (first ride on wet pavement and I didn’t take the corners easy). Just a bit of road grime spray. I miss riding the bike and plan on making it a larger part of my exercise regimen.

Thinking of taking this in a new direction
I started this blog with the intent of keeping it focused and bike commuting and riding. However, as things have changed as they often do. I am refocusing the blog to include running and fitness in general. I mean they are all interrelated any way. So going forward it should still be heavy on biking it will also include other topics related to running and fitness.

Trying something new
Thinking about trying a randonneur next year. Just for something different. Will be modifying my Jamis Allegro for this, nothing major just a set of bull bars and clip less peddles. I actually want to complete a century ride first. Any suggestions?

Bike friendly cities
Still unemployed and making the best of it. Looking around and realizing relocation may be necessary. If so I will do my best to look for a biking friendly city and employer. May as well take the opportunity to improve my situation. Any recommendations?

Not commuting but riding
I have been riding again. working it into my workout routine. Everywhere I have been going, I have been driving as it is always too far to ride. Although, I have found a local coffee shop in my town and it is in riding distance. So I may take my job searches there in the mornings a few times a week. With the new baby (that could be here any day) I can’t really commit to any thing other than getting there at some point.
Wishing I lived in a more bike friendly town.

Tried a short run
This morning I figured I would go for a short run, since my doctor said let pain be my guide. I figured I would give it a try. Well I got a few blocks into the run and I started to feel it in my shoulder. It didn’t hurt but I don’t want to take it that far. Just walking and biking for now I guess. Still haven’t tried push-up, probably not a good idea.

Short ride
Got out and went for a short ride this evening. Nothing special just a quick 2 or 3 mile ride. First ride with the new Timbuk2 bag. Rode well, as I expected. Felt good to get a workout in, even a short one.

Getting back on the ball
Still waiting to see what the extent of my injury is. I know I have a pinched nerve and a pulled muscle. What I don’t know for sure is that there may be other injuries that need to be dealt with. There is some possibility of a bulging disk and some arthritis in my neck. I’ll have to wait for an MRI to see if and how bad they may be. Till then I will just go for eating right, easy workouts, letting the pain be my guide. My diet the past week or so has been horrible. Time to dial it in and get it tight.

Moving in a slightly different direction
Not as bad as is sounds. This is still a biking blog but I am going to widen it just a bit to include fitness related items. Since a. I don’t have a job to commute to right now and b. I haven’t been riding much since my injury (or before). No major change, not that I have any followers to upset anyway.
Just a few extras post on some other, related, topics. Such as diet, fitness, exercise and wellness type posts.
